Aliscia L Banks
Executive Director

Aliscia is the Executive Director of Families Helping Families of Northeast Louisiana, Inc. She has been working with individuals with disabilities and their families since the inception of Families Helping Families. She and her husband, Steve, are the proud parents of Liles their 18 year old son with multiple disabilities and Molly their 16 year old daughter.


Laura Nettles
Education Specialist

Laura is a busy, busy person around the region. Most of her time is spent in the schools themselves assisting parents and professionals in meeting the needs of all children – not just those with disabilities. She also facilities and speaks at many workshops and trainings throughout the year to educate individuals with disabilities, their families, and communities about transition – life after school. Laura is the mother of Sara, the drama queen, who has spina bifida and Laura’s sister, April, has developmental disabilities both of whom are adopted


Thelma Fuselier
Children's Special Health Services Parent Liaison

Thelma provides a vital link between Families Helping Families and Children's Special Health Services speciality clinics for children with disabilities. She attends all clinics to be available to parents to be a listening ear, refer them to other local agencies who can help meet their needs, and also help them best access the services of the Office of Public Health. Her daughter, Brittany, who has spina bifida is a Children's Special Health Services patient.


Esther McGee
Children's Special Health Services State Coordinator

Esther works as the Children's Special Health Services Parent Liaison’s statewide coordinator to assist them in their work with families at Children's Special Health Services. She strives to make sure that they have the most up-to-date information and training so they can best help others. Esther is the mom of 4 sons and her daughter, Kimmie, who has multiple disabilities.


Pat Evans
Bookkeeper

Pat has the job that no one wants – bookkeeper!! She keeps all of the billing and accounts current so that we can keep providing services to families. She is also our liaison with the Autism Society of Northeast Louisiana and serves on the Board of the Dixie DieHards (baseball teams for individuals with disabilities). Whew!! In between all of that she and her husband, Charles are raising their 12 year old grandson, Morgan who has Autism.


Shacoma Brown

Shacoma is an invaluable resource to our center. She keeps the maintains the library and the library computer tracking database. Shacoma also prepares over 4,000 copies of our newsletter for mailing every quarter. She is the only person in the office who can correctly complete the bulk mailing form. (Go Shacoma!!!) Best of all, she adapts and tackles any project that she is given.


Marilyn Black
Receptionist and Data Entry

Marilyn is the smiling face that you meet when you enter our doors or the first voice you hear when you call. She knows a lot about all of the programs we offer so you can speak to the correct staff person. She also has the tremendous task of making sure that everyone’s paperwork is correct and in the database. Marilyn is the proud grandmother of six and great-grandmother of three!


Fae Moullé
Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities Family Facilitator

Fae is our newest staff member – sort of. Once a family is referred to Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities, there is still a wait for services. Fae contacts these families to let them know they are not alone and there is someone out there who is willing to help them while they wait. Fae and her husband, Nolan, are the parents of Nolan,III – who is soon to pass the bar – and Nancy who is in Lafayette in school for the visually impaired.


Lisa Robinson
Housing Specialist and Early Childhood Supports and Services

Accessible housing is a real need for all people – not just those with disabilities. Lisa is the spearhead behind CHAN – Community Housing Access Network – in Region 8. She has made it her mission to ensure that individuals with disabilities and their families know about their public housing options and how to avail themselves of these options. Lisa is also our representative to Early Childhood Supports and Services. This is a network of local agencies who help develop a life changing plan of assistance for at risk families. The agency is a program of the Office of Mental Health. She and her husband, Willie, are the parents of Mitchell (a future NBA star) and Mark (a future circus clown).


Stacey Burke
Early Steps Outreach Coordinator

Early Steps is the Louisiana Early Intervention Program for at risk infants ages 0 to 3. Stacey is the parent component of the Region 8 team. Stacey and our Region 8 Early Steps program are housed in the Ouachita Parish Health Unit. She and her husband, Kevin, are the parents of three children, 2 boys, and Mary Ashton their precious baby girl who has Down Syndrome.


Michelle Quinn

Michelle lives and works in Lake Providence. Her mission is to help improve the participation of families and community linkages with schools. Family involvement is essential to a good education and Michelle works to make that happen.
